EXT. SUBURBAN HOUSE – LATE AFTERNOON
Establishing shot of a modest home in warm natural light. Calm and still. A slight breeze stirs nearby bushes.
INT. HOUSE – ENTRANCE HALLWAY – CONTINUOUS
Wide shot of a tidy hallway. A side table near the front door holds a stack of newspapers. Close-up on the newspapers — bold, ominous headlines visible.
INT. BEDROOM – MOMENTS LATER
Medium shot: LILY (16) ties her shoes. She grabs a set of keys, exits frame.
EXT. HOUSE – FRONT STEPS / DRIVEWAY – CONTINUOUS
Tracking shot: Lily exits the house, locks the door, walks down the steps.
Sound: DOOR CLOSING and LOCKING.
EXT. GRAVEL PATH – CONTINUOUS
Low-angle shots of Lily’s feet on gravel. Minimal ambient sound.
EXT. FOREST EDGE – MOMENTS LATER
Medium shot of Lily entering the edge of the forest. Slow pan of surrounding trees.
Sound: NATURAL AMBIENCE — birds, twigs underfoot.
(Fade to black)
EXT. GRAVEL PATH / DRIVEWAY – MINUTES LATER
Lily walks briskly, clearly unsettled. Approaches her house.
EXT. FRONT DOOR – CONTINUOUS
Close-up: the front door stands slightly ajar.
INT. HOUSE – ENTRANCE HALLWAY – CONTINUOUS
Lily enters cautiously. Close-up of her hand pushing the door open.
Tracking shot from behind: she steps in slowly.
Cut to: the newspapers now scattered on the floor.
INSERT SHOT – Lily picks up one, reads a headline. Her expression darkens.
Sound: The underscore deepens. A distant creak is heard within the house.
INT. LIVING ROOM – MOMENTS LATER
Handheld tracking shot: Lily moves slowly through the house.
Cut to: a jewelry box half open, contents spilled. Drawers slightly pulled.
INSERT SHOT – A KITCHEN KNIFE is is lying on a wooden table.
INT. HALLWAY / WALL SPACE – CONTINUOUS
Medium shot: Lily walks toward a wall. Her breath shortens.
Close-up: a picture frame with aa photo of her, circled in red ink.
She steps back, stunned.
ANGLE ON: Behind her, a HOODED FIGURE IN BLACK silently enters frame.
Her eyes widen. She turns slightly —
CUT TO BLACK.
Sound: The underscore cuts to silence or a single ominous tone.
FADE OUT.
